Walk and Rally for Health Care Reform
Democracy For Monroe County is focusing on the health care legislation that is moving through Congress. They strongly believe that the heart of the final bill must be a robust Public Option that will be ready on day one, be available everywhere and accountable to our government and have the clout to establish rates with providers and big drug companies.
As part of their push for the Public Option, they are organizing a Walk and Rally for Health Care Reform that will take place on September 12, 2009. This event, which will start at 4:00 PM on the B-Line Trail next to the Convention Center, and end with a rally on the steps of City Hall. There will be a diverse program of speakers including State Representative Matt Pierce, Bloomington City Clerk and Democratic Women’s Caucus Chair Regina Moore, and others.
