Darcie Fawcett has served as the Judge of Monroe Circuit Court IX since 2019. She handles a criminal docket ranging from public intoxication to murder, as well as seizure of firearms and traffic citations.
In addition to handling cases, Judge Fawcett is a member of the local Community Corrections Advisory Board, Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council, Indiana Judges Association, and Monroe County Bar Association. She has also been appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to the Race and Gender Fairness Committee.
Judge Fawcett received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education from the University of Wisconsin in 1997 and her law degree from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2004. Prior to law school she taught at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand and Chicago and Indianapolis public schools.
She is a member of the Northside Exchange Club and serves on the Board of Directors for the Opportunity House. She is a past President of the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association and Fairview Elementary PTO. She is a former member of Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association, Hospital Site Reutilization Steering Committee, City of Bloomington Board of Parks Commissioners, Advisory Committee for the Unified Development Ordinance, Monroe County Human Rights Commission, and a Democratic Emerging Leader.
