Make a Voting Plan
Voting is the fundamental core of our democracy, and it is vital that every member of our community casts a ballot. As Your Monroe County Democratic Party, we want to make sure all voices have a seat at the many tables in our government, and the only way we can make sure that happens is if everyone votes. So, we have created this page to give you all the resources you need to cast your ballot in the upcoming election. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Before you can vote in any elections, you must register. The deadline to vote in the November 2024 General Election is October 7. You can register, update your registration, or check your registration status using the button below.
Know Your Polling Location
If you are voting in person, you need to know your polling location. You can find your primary voting location using the button below. You can also refer to MonroeCountyVoters.us.
How Will You Vote?
Before you can vote, you need to determine how you will cast your ballot. If you intend to vote in person, whether early or on election day, great! You are all set and can move on to the next section. However, you may qualify to vote via a mail-in ballot. If you would like to learn more about voting via a mail-in ballot, just click the button below. Make sure to double-check that you meet the requirements, and then fill out the absentee ballot application. You will have the option to submit an online form or download the application and submit it directly to the Monroe County Election Board. If you have any questions about applying for or casting a mail ballot, call the Monroe County Election Board at (812) 349-2690.
Deadlines and Voting Hours
There are many important deadlines that all voters should know about. You learned about the registration deadlines above, but you must also know the mail-in ballot request deadline, when your mail-in ballot must be returned to the Monroe County Election Board, early voting days and times, and when you can vote on election day.
If you are planning to vote by mail, your ballot application must be received by the Monroe County Election Board no later than 11:59 P.M., 12 days before the election (by October 24, 2024). After you receive your mail-in ballot, it must be received by the Monroe County Election Board no later than 6:00 P.M. on election day (November 5, 2024). Even if the ballots are postmarked before these deadlines, they are considered late and will not be counted if not received by the Election Board before the deadline.
If you are voting in person before election day, you will have several opportunities to cast your ballot. All early voting will take place at Election Central (the old Napa building) regardless of where your election day polling location is. Early voting will begin on October 8, 2024. For a complete list of times, please visit MonroeCountyVoters.us.
If you are voting in person on election day, you may do so at your polling location between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on November 5, 2024.
Cast Your Ballot
Now that you know the important deadlines, voting hours, and how you plan on voting, the final step is to make sure you can cast your ballot. If you are voting via a mail-in ballot, we recommend you follow all the instructions listed on IndianaVoters.com (you can use the mail-in ballot button above to go to that website). If you are voting in person, you must remember to bring a valid, Indiana- or U.S.-issued photo I.D. when you go vote. This I.D. must include a name that conforms to your legal name and have an expiration date. Different types of I.D.s that you may use include your Indiana Driver’s License, your Indiana Photo-I.D. card, or your military I.D. You may also use your school I.D. if it is issued by an Indiana State school and meets all the criteria. Please use the button below for more information about what photo-I.D. you may use when casting your ballot.
We hope this page has helped you build your voting plan. If you have any questions or concerns or would like to learn more, please reach out to us using our contact page. Make sure to cast your ballot in this upcoming election to #HelpDemocratsDeliver!
